The Universe in a Book...Cover

a journey through my imagination

Who Am I?

My Background

I’ve been drawing and making art ever since I was a little kid. But things haven’t always been easy!

I’ve worked in the field of web and graphic design for more than 14 years, specializing in UI/UX – but the corporate life and the rat race I found myself in started to eventually take its toll. One day, I decided to radically change everything – I quit my corporate office job, I rented my apartment in the big bustling city, and moved to a quiet life near the mountains. Slowly but surely going full freelance, I was following my dream: to further develop my concept art skills, quench my thirst for creation, and live off my art. This is how I began doing concept art comissions for board games, book covers, prints, games and so on, mostly in the sci-fi/fantasy genre.

My Journey

My artistic journey has taken me from years of drawing with pen and charcoals as a youngster, towards a more digital world of using graphics tablets and computer programs. But whether I am painting on canvas, drawing on my tablet or sculpting in my garden, there’s nothing more fulfilling than bringing my inner universe and creatures to life.

As an avid reader of sci-fi/fantasy and a passionate videogamer, I spend my days immersed in strange and enchanting universes that eventually inspire me to create wonderful and sometimes terrifying creatures.

When I’m not drawing I’m spending my time reading, playing with the 3 cats and 2 dogs currently bringing joy into our house, or taking long walks in the mountains and the woods. If the days are beautiful I’ll be riding my motorcycle or be lost somewhere on a mountain! πŸ™‚

β€œ You’re a storyteller. Dream up something wild and improbable,” she pleaded. β€œ Something beautiful and full of monsters. ”
β€œ Beautiful and full of monsters? ”

β€œAll the best stories are.”

My Specialties

Science Fiction & Fantasy
By far the area I am most specialized in, I find great pleasure in drawing and illustrating mighty battle scenes, epic starships or mysterious alien creatures.
Creatures & Characters
Oftentimes I am asked to create or define a character for a book cover, and there's no shortage of ideas for that - mysterious villains, strong heroes or enchanting sorceresses go hand in hand with otherworldly monsters or mythical beasts.
Cyberpunk & Biomecha
One of my favorite artists and biggest artistic influences was H.R. Giger, so as a kid growing up drawing Alien, I was bound to develop a taste for the fascinating, sometimes disturbing world of machines, alien AIs and human hybrids.
Young Adult
Monsters and creatures aren't my only friends! Sometimes I also draw a book cover that's downright on the cute side, or feel the need to illustrate something innocent and beautiful.
